Meet the Team
K2C Snake Consultants, Inc. started as a group of friends who all had an interest and experience in reptiles and other wildlife that some people find "scary". We started in our own neighborhoods offering to move snakes and other reptiles from yards that were causing concerns to homeowners as a community service. Each of us gained a reputation for being the local "snake person" and found it satisfying to be able to help those who called on us.
In 2020, Mark and Bonnie obtained their licenses to be official Nuisance Wildlife Control operators in VA and later decided to become incorporated as K2 Wildlife Encounters, LLC. In 2021, Bill joined the team as he was doing the same type of community service through his own company, Crisp~B~Creatures. Later that year, we changed our name to K2C Wildlife Encounters, LLC. Since then, we have had three other wildlife operators join the team, Joe, Amanada and Erin. Our team shares the same passion and mission - to help the animals and the people who don't understand them.
By 2025 we had already grown and realized that our mission was one that best fit a non-profit structure, so we closed K2C Wildlife Encounters, LLC and transitioned to K2C Snake Consultants, Inc. as an official 501(c)(3) located in Northern Virginia.
K2C Snake Consultants, Inc. is able to serve most of northern VA, offering advice and assistance to those who need it. We are different from other wildlife and pest control originations in that we KNOW snakes. Like, we REALLY know snakes. We understand their behaviors, what species inhabit the local areas, what their food sources are, where they like to dwell, and other insight that most wildlife control personnel do not have. We are passionate about these animals and will impart our collective wisdom to your situation and property. We hope that you will call us so that we can give you correct information, rather than the misinformation that some others may impart.

Amanda Kay is a long-time nature-lover, but new to Northern Virginia and its wildlife. Before moving to Alexandria in 2022, she lived in Utah where she volunteered as the Education Committee Chairperson for Great Salt Lake Audubon and a Bird Docent for HawkWatch International. Prior to moving to Utah, she lived in Arizona where she volunteered with Audubon Arizona and Liberty Wildlife. After six years of volunteer work with wildlife conservation and rescue organizations, she decided to return to school and change career paths (from teaching art from her in-home studio to the wildlife conservation field). She is currently a grad student in the Global Field Program with Miami University and works as a naturalist and instructor for Fairfax County Park Authority at Burke Lake Park. She met Bonnie after interviewing her for a school project and was ecstatic to be invited to join the K2C team. She received her WCO permit several months later and feels honored to be learning from the best!
Although her first love is birds, snakes are a close second. She enjoys birdwatching and “herping” and is quickly learning about the local wildlife. Her non-wildlife hobbies include kayaking, painting, crocheting, traveling, and spending time with her husband, two kids, and too many pets. She lives in Alexandria and can also service Arlington, Springfield, Mount Vernon, and surrounding areas.
Originally from Southern California (OC), Chandra Wells moved to Northern Virginia in the summer of 2022. A former veterinary technician, she transitioned into the fitness industry and has spent the past 13 years as a fitness instructor specializing in mobility and movement for all ages. She is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Applied Health.
Chandra has over 15 years of experience in wildlife rescue and relocation, with a special focus on snakes and other misunderstood species. In addition to her wildlife work, she has been involved in domestic animal rescue for nearly 30 years and is a certified Wildlife Control Operator (WCO). Passionate about nature and animals of all kinds, she especially enjoys educating the public about commonly feared wildlife such as snakes and spiders, helping people better understand their importance and role in the ecosystem.
In her free time, she enjoys going to the beach, hiking, traveling, spending time outdoors (especially in warm weather), drawing, and anything involving her family. She is a wife and mother/stepmother to four teenagers, and the proud pet parent of five animals, including two snakes.
